The name means ‘Umbrella for little children’. Pawasol, as they are fondly called, is a charity whose sole mission is to provide relief for Saint Lucia’s children in need. Whether it’s help with school costs, medical, housing, basic life necessities, they raise funds to assist. The need is continuously bigger than the funds available so this dedicated group of (mostly) women, keeps on devising new ways to raise funds. All of the funds raised go to helping the kids in need.
Pawasol has recently opened a little charity shop in the car park near Coconutz Cantina, to the side of Bank of Nova Scotia, Reduit Beach Avenue, (more commonly referred to as ‘The Rodney Bay Strip) Rodney Bay. Every friday from 10.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. the shop is open selling nearly new clothes, shoes, bags, household items and many more interesting things. You can pick up a bargain while helping children in need in Saint Lucia!
If you have clothes or goods you’d like to donate, they welcome that too. Take them to the shop during opening hours on Fridays.
Please do the following before donating though – sort items to select only those in good condition; wash all clothes and if you can, sort into men’s, women’s, children’s etc – they’ll really appreciate this! As you can imagine, it’s a lot of work already, so anything you can do to help is very much appreciated!
If you have some time and would like to volunteer or join the work of the organisation, just let them know.
