A little bit of tech in this sponsored post – we know you need to know where to go for a helping hand when on holiday and your tech is misbehavin’! As always, our aim at Island Effect is to be an excellent, trusty guide for you, so all opinions are our own!
Just so we are all on the same page… the TARDIS is a time machine that is bigger on the inside.
That’s Cell Rack — a time machine that’s bigger on the inside. Let me explain.
The Cell Rack is a hole-in-the-wall IT shop that manages to accommodate everyone who walks through their doors. Petit corps pas malady (being small is not an illness) — they seems to provide every service needed from cell phone repairs and credit top ups to tech help, computer repairs and online shopping.
Up-Front Service of many kinds!
With a computer lab of six computers you can also call on Daniel who will sit with you to write letters, fix CVs, rearrange letters in some cases even write the letter, order online, format manuscripts and SBAs, and once you are successful, they can laminate the certificate for you too!

They facilitate applications online for all sorts of portals including visas. They take the passport photos too. Yes they do provide credit top ups on prepaid cell phones. They even go old school by sending and receiving faxes.
You get the picture- this shop is all heart!
They also provide a host of tech toys, gadgets, accessories, cell phones, tablets and laptops! With the migration to online streaming there are numerous devices to upgrade your TV. Point and ask, the staff will explain it all.
The Personal Touch
In the back is the wiz I call DA MISTA! Daniel is the front man, but Esra is THE MAN! A fix-it guru; his magic touch seems to fix any model of phone, tablet, computer…
Desk tops, laptops, cell phones… If it has a chip, Esra will fix it.
And these guys are honest! If they don’t have what you need they not only say so, but send you to the shop in town where you can get it. I have seen them do it. If it can’t be fixed they don’t even accept the item… So no bogus charge based on trying to fix it.

Cell Rack is a throwback to the days of the corner shop. Hands on service… I swear the staff seems to know everyone. Long after the shop is closed Daniel and Esra can be found helping folks. After hours is the time when cricket, history, school days, politics, the state of our youth all get discussed and more importantly… Solved.
Hall of Fame Photo Gallery
I have also noticed that the team has started a new venture: Placed strategically at the counter is a Hall of Fame of Saint Lucians. I’m sure many are asking who these people are. The first cluster is the Prime Ministers of Saint Lucia from the first, John Compton, to the latest, Allan Chastanet. That corner is going to educate many and generate much discussion on what we know and do not know about this beautiful island.

Charge your phone
Cell Rack is a little oasis in the heart of busy Castries. And one last tip, if the battery in your device has died, you can get it charged and have a juice while you wait.
For me, it’s the best little tech shop in town.
